We’ve awarded our youngest person ever, along with his older siblings.
Jeremy, aged five, from Tile Hill in Coventry received the award from Deputy Chief Constable Vanessa Jardine at a bravery awards ceremony on Thursday 9 September.

Jeremy was presented with his Young Person’s Award alongside his brother Jonathan, aged seven, and big sister Elizabeth, 11, for finding a knife and handing it in to us to destroy.
The three were out litter picking in Limbrick Wood in May last year, when they found a knife at the base of a tree.
“Me and my brothers all got scared but mummy kept us calm. Daddy collected the knife and we safely boxed it up,” said Elizabeth.
“We brought it to the police station and a nice policeman collected it from us. I said I didn’t want anyone to get hurt from a dangerous knife.”

As well as a framed certificate all three were treated to a bag of Freddos. As it was his birthday on the same day as the award ceremony, Jeremy received an extra present – a police costume.
