Can you see yourself as a Police Community Support Officer with West Midlands Police?
West Midlands Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are the crucial link between the local neighbourhoods they serve and police.
PCSOs provide an increased visible police presence within their local communities by conducting patrols to help prevent crime, to keep people safe from harm and to increase community trust and confidence in West Midlands Police.
Trained to calm heated situations, PCSOs defuse hostility and provide that all important reassurance to help make our communities safer.
As part of the West Midlands Police People Deal our newly recruited PCSOs will join a unique professional development programme, having an opportunity to gain a level 3 job related qualification through a supportive work-based scheme, providing both skills and qualifications to help you play a pivotal role in ensuring delivery of a high quality service to our local communities.
These are full time posts and hours are based on a 36.5 hour week spanning Monday to Sunday, which requires applicants to work a shift pattern. Shift cover is between 8am-midnight, and includes some evening and weekend work. Roles are based across eight West Midlands Police Neighbourhood units. The salary starts at £22,671.
The PCSO role is more than just a 9-5 job so if you think you are up for the challenge, and can see yourself as a PCSO, you can access the role description, application form and Frequently Asked Questions sheet via the links above.
