With COVID-19 at the forefront of everyone’s minds, we wanted to update everyone thinking of joining West Midlands Police on how we are working to keep our recruitment processes running.
It is as important as ever to make sure we can welcome new colleagues into the force to help keep the West Midlands safe. We continue to welcome applications for all of our career options, whether it’s as a police officer, police staff or as a volunteer.
We understand that this is an unsettling and worrying time for everyone. West Midlands Police has been, and will continue to, follow government advice about how we should all respond to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Our recruitment processes usually involve travel and face to face contact and, for police officer recruits, sees candidates attend appointments for medicals, uniform fittings and fitness tests. We are looking at ways of adapting these processes so we can continue to recruit, while also ensuring everyone’s safety.
We ask for your patience and flexibility as we embed precautions designed to keep you, your future colleagues, and our assessors in a safe environment.
West Midlands Police is very resilient and we will continue to support people and perform our duties to protect lives and prevent crime.
